The Simi Valley Education Foundation is proud to announce that 17 teachers were awarded professional development scholarships as part of the Partners in Education program -- scholarship program designed to enhance educational opportunities for students by allowing teachers to attend conferences, workshops or classes in their chosen fields. This program is sponsored entirely by Casden Properties, LLC through a $5,000 donation.

This year, Partners in Education provided scholarships for teachers to attend:

• Choral Academy

• The Mechanics of Writing Teacher Workshop
• The 27th Annual International Conference on Critical Thinking
• The Western Renaissance Training Symposium 2007 for Accelerated Reading
• Working with Words: Activities that Teach Phonics, Decoding, and Spelling Skills and Math for K-3
• Writers at Work Conference K-12
