A Successful Golf Tournament!!

On Friday, September 25th golfers and even non-golfers joined in at the Tee Up for Kidz Golf Tournament for a day for fun, friendship and raising much-needed funds for the students in the Simi Valley public schools.

By taking part in the tournament, participants and sponsors helped to raise money to provide supplemental educational programs and resources to students attending Simi Valley public schools through the Foundation’s Enhancement Education Grant program. These grants offer educators additional resources to encourage growth, enrichment and innovation for the students and teachers of the Simi Valley Public Schools.

The day was warm, and the golfers enjoyed the camaraderie of  participating in a tournament that benefits all the students in Simi Valley. 

Education is Everyone’s Business and that theme was apparent throughout the day and evening as golfers enjoyed bidding on memorabilia, taking part in the raffle drawings and hanging out with follow golfers over dinner.

2007 Tee Up for Kidz Golf Tournament Raises $27,000

On Friday, November 2, 2007, 110 golfers participated in our annual Tee Up for Kidz Golf Tournament at Lost Canyons Golf Course. This year’s Tournament Chair, Kevin Underwood, planned a few new surprises for our players. Players had the opportunity to have a pro drive for them at one hole, participate in a 50/50 raffle at another and enjoy goodies from our Hole Sponsors! Two new sponsorship levels were added this year – Contest and Hole sponsorships – in addition to our Eagle, Birdie and Par Sponsors.

By taking part in the tournament, participants and sponsors helped to provide supplemental educational programs and resources to students attending Simi Valley public schools through the Foundation’s Enhancement Education Grant program. These grants offer educators additional resources to encourage growth, enrichment and innovation for the students and teachers of the Simi Valley Public Schools. More than $29,000 was raised – a new record!!
