The Simi Valley Education Foundation recently hosted the Celebration of Education Annual Gala on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Air Force One Pavilion at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. More than 350 people attended helping to raise much-needed funds to continue to support the programs that we provide to the schools, teachers and students in Simi Valley public schools.
Co-Chaired by Councilmember Glen Becerra, Mayor Pro Tem Michelle Foster and SVEF Board member Karen Stewart, where guests enjoyed a wonderful evening of fine dining, dancing to the music of a live band, and participating in truly exciting live and silent auctions
“The evening is devoted to the partnerships of individuals, businesses and public education who all recognize the importance of helping to provide funds for innovative education programs that enrich the educational experiences of our students, “ said Allan C. Mann, president of the Simi Valley Education Foundation. “Through our various programs, we are able to provide education learning opportunities that exceed basic standards, spark creativity, and sustain excellence,” he added.
Bidding during the live auction engaged the entire room as the phrase “It’s for the kids” was uttered over and over and bidding wars were not uncommon.
Community support is vital to our success. Thank you to the entire community and the hundreds of donors who support the Simi Valley Education Foundation and help maintain excellence in the public schoolsof Simi Valley.
