For those who can’t make the Saturday, October 1 collection day, there will be two additional FREE collection days -- Thursday and Friday, September 29-30 from 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. at Elegant Gardens Nursery - 2046 Tierra Rejada Road,
Trucks will be stationed during all three collection days to haul away unwanted computer monitors, television sets, plasma screens, laptops, keyboards, LCDs, cameras, stereos, cell phones, printers and other electronic items.
The Simi Valley Education Foundation wants to encourage those of you out there to bring your old electronics in so that they can be disposed of in a safe manner. By law, such products must now be `e-recycled' -- and that means recycled properly and in ways that won't harm the environment.
Be GREEN and help the Simi Valley Education Foundation earn money for every pound of E-waste recycled. All proceeds go to our public schools!!

First E-Waste Day A Success!
Simi Valley Education Foundation held its first-ever E-WASTE Recycling Day last October, for items such as computers, laptops, monitors, televisions, scanners, cell phones, printers, fax machines, answering machines and keyboards.
Don't call it junk -- it's e-waste. In its prime, perhaps only a year or two ago, it was the largest monitor, the fastest computer, the "newest and latest” TV.
Today, it's e-waste: outdated, unwanted electronic equipment, plucked from closets, spare bedrooms and garages and now was recycled at this community-wide recycling day.
More than 106,000 pounds of e-waste was collected, sorted and recycled.
This Spring we are looking to do it again...this time BIGGER!
And what's more -- all proceeds went directly to our public schools!! |
