Family Concert featuring
The Tokens
Performing their hits “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and “Tonight I Fell in Love”
The Simi Valley Education Foundation, along with Underwood Employee Benefits and Insurance Services, held our first community sponsored event at the new Performing Arts Center at Santa Susana High School on Sunday, April 17th with two benefit concerts featuring The Tokens – famous for their “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and “Tonight I Fell in Love” songs! More than 400 people enjoyed the music.
The five-member ensemble sang a mix of rock, doo-wop, and harmonies while performing on their own instruments and engaging the audience in sing-along participation! It was a fun event for the entire family!
“We are more of a show than just a band,” said band member Noah Margo. "We try to entertain the entire family,” he said.
Brian Iverson, 2010-2011 President of the Simi Valley Education Foundation added, "During the show, the group put a big emphasis on audience participation and encouraged everyone to sing along with the band. They are great singers and they had a lot of fun doing it while telling some fantastic stories about the band's history.”
